Jennifer is a Kitchener native and has been practicing Pedorthics in the KW and surrounding areas since 2007.

Jennifer holds a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Physical Education from Wilfrid Laurier University. In her 3rd year she initiated her steps into the Pedorthic profession through a mentorship with a local Pedorthist. She went on to complete the Diploma in Pedorthics program and graduated with distinction through Western University. In 2007 she completed her National Certification and received her designation of C. Ped (C), Canadian Certified Pedorthist. Jennifer’s clinical approach is to provide and assist with the body’s “foundation” for optimal joint, muscle and supporting soft tissue function. No matter the reason, whether it be injury related, dysfunction and compensations, chronic presentations or neurological complications, Jennifer’s goal is to improve comfort and mobility for each patient. Each pair of custom foot orthotics is specifically designed by Jennifer, and fabricated in house. Patient education plays a vital role in Jennifer’s practice. Feeling confident in understanding the assessment and treatment plan are essential pieces in the overall experience, but also in the success outcomes. Jennifer continues to educate and mentor new Pedorthic students as a supervisor to Pedorthic candidates who are enrolled in the Pedorthic program through Western University. Jennifer served on the Ethics Committee and Continuing Education Committee for the College of Pedorthics of Canada for a number of years before being nominated and elected by her peers to serve on the Board of Directors for The College of Pedorthics of Canada. She did so for 6 years, and during that time gained valuable insight, knowledge and experience in the realm of public protection, business and board organization. In her spare time Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, fitness training, cooking and wine pairing.

What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a holistic and manual approach to healthcare that recognizes the body’s ability to heal itself. When illness or pain occurs, it is often due to obstructions that prevent the body’s healing elements from doing their job effectively. These obstructions can manifest as mal-alignments in the bones, musculoskeletal, fascia, or ligamentous structures, which can impede the flow of nerves, blood, and lymphatics. Osteopathic practitioners assess and treat the body as a whole, looking for and treating the cause rather than just the effect.

Osteopathic practitioners like Mohammed use a variety of principle-based manual techniques to reduce or remove these restrictions, thereby restoring the body’s normal physiological function. This, in turn, allows the body to initiate the healing process naturally. Osteopathic practitioners are trained to palpate (assess) your physical structure through your clothing. Wearing loose or non-restrictive clothing is helpful so that you have full range of motion.

Mohammed holds a Master in Practice of Osteopathic Manipulative Sciences (M. OMSc.) from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy, where he was trained, with 4.5 years of Osteopathic education, to uphold the classical principles-based approach to osteopathy envisioned by Dr. Andrew Taylor Still.

With a background in Kinesiology and an Honours Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Waterloo, Mohammed has a comprehensive understanding of human movement and its impact on overall health and well-being. Mohammed had the privilege of being taught by world-renowned professors such as Dr. Stu McGill.

With over 8 years of education, this has allowed Mohammed to cultivate a comprehensive and holistic approach to healthcare that aligns with the values and principles of osteopathy.

Mohammed is committed to continuous learning and refining his skills to better serve his patients.

He looks forward to the positive impact he will make on the lives of those seeking relief from pain and a path to improved health!
